I spent months working 12 hour days sanding floors and taking wallpaper down with the baby on my back, and others playing inside the playpen. Ha! It was here that my business Growing Days was born. Apart from my successful company, I also started our family. I was balancing the demands of having starting a new venture while also being a mommy. Growing Days just seemed to fit. Nora joined us in 2013 to be our fourth baby. The direction my company was heading was fantastic, but I was forced to rest for a while. I took a break from creating vintage furniture and slowed down my pace in order to stay at home and raise the children. In the beginning, this was exactly what I needed. It was only after several months when the phones began to call. The people who called me were seeking help for their interior decorating and home remodeling. They were mostly people that came to my house for furniture. In the following months, I began to take on more clients, at my own speed. Soon I had multiple clients, and had as a home improvement business. Had you told me my venture would end up being the basis for a DIY Network show, I likely would have laughed. In the present, as I look back on this situation, I find myself laughing.
