In Minnesota she performed at a regional theater, where she played a role in Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999) was a comedy documentary that focused on beauty pages. In Los Angeles, she pursued acting as a profession following her film debut in which she played an uneasy but fun contestant. Janet Leigh was married to Tony Curtis between June 1951 and September 1962. She's the mother of Kelly Curtis (and Jamie Lee Curtis) and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh's film career began following the signing of an MGM contract in the late 1940s. Her work was noticed by actress Norma Shearer. She appeared in a range of cult films over the decade that followed, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (from the year 1960) and Living It Up (1954) with Martin Lewis.
