Richard B. Cheney, an accomplished public servant and a businessman is the vice-president. Cheney is a familiar figure within Washington's political world. George W. Bush who is set to become the future chief of state in the U.S. will be Cheney's fourth. Bush chose Cheney to be his vice-presidential candidate in July 2000, citing Cheney's expertise and wisdom. Dick Cheney was a chief of staff for presidents. He worked for the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense and served the nation in various roles. Cheney is a man with integrity and is respected by Republicans as well as Democrats. Cheney said that his job within the Bush administration is that of an honest but quiet adviser. Cheney expressed his excitement at accepting the Republican vice-presidential nominee. Cheney said the future is bright for him working alongside a president who will collaborate with those who have diverse political beliefs and shared objectives. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941 the son of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. After 13 years of age, old, he emigrated with his family to Casper located in western state of Wyoming, where his father was the director of the district for soil conservation in Casper to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
